In need of your help!!

I am trying to decide what is the best way to keep the store stocked. I need some input from my customers though. Do you prefer stocked items that are already completed or do you prefer custom options such as YYMN and semi customs?

Please take a minute to vote and feel free to leave any feedback you may have. Thanks so much!!!

All those that vote, please leave a comment for me letting me know you have voted. You will be entered into a drawing for your choice of either a YYMN shorties slot or a Hudson hat.

I love seeing completed items up for sale! I know that the item will be shipped out right away so I can gauge the sizing better to make sure it will fit my LO when it gets here. Nothing worse than waiting a month + for longies to arrive that end up not fitting properly.
My second choice would be semi-customs because it allows me to get a custom size without a huge wait time.
YYMN just doesn't work for me because it costs a large amount of shipping for me as I am in Canada. It also takes a huge amount of time. My other problem with YYMN is that I'm newer to wool and my imagination isn't that big so I have a hard time envisioning what a knitted up item will look like. I don't want to spend money on yarn when I'm not sure how it will look knitted up. That's just me though I'm sure the yarn connoisseurs feel differently. My e-mail is Barefootmystic at Gmail.com. Hope that helps:)

I definitely prefer in-stock. I've had customs come to me and DD had a growth spurt during the wait time. So my vote would be for in-stock or semi-customs that would not have much wait time.

While I do like in-stock items, I personally prefer customization of size and colourway. Semi-customs would be most convenient for me.

Ok, I forgot my name and all that good stuff so I deleted the original and am trying again. Let's blame pregnant brain.

I'm probably not much help, but I like seeing all three. Completed items are always nice because there is the (almost) immediate gratification of getting the woolies soon after clicking the BIN. Semi-customs and YYMN are also really nice to see though, because they give the buyer the option of making the items exactly what they are looking for.

In my ideal world, I'd love to see a combo of the 3 offered regularly, maybe a few completed items, one or two semi-custom spots, and one or two YYMN spots each month (obviously as time allows, I'm not sure how long it takes to do all of those things).

I like a combo too. I don't always have yarn for YYMN. Semi-custom and YYMN are a nice combo. It's nice to be able to get the perfect inseam and cuff on semi custom.

Speaking of which, those homespun semi custom shorties you have up now are stunning! Too small for us, I wish they were a couple inches bigger each way. Lovely work :)

I really love seeing finished items the first time I buy from a mama, and then once I know the work, I wouldn't mind picking the yarn, the item in a custom.

BTW, the shorties in your store are GORGEOUS!!

Thank you all so much for your comments so far. I am really taking them in and trying to make sure that I am meeting the needs that are there. Not sure if this helps in your decision, but I want to add this in. When I do YYMN or semi custom slots, I don't ask for sizing until I am ready to cast on. It usually takes me less than a week to complete the item. I do this to make sure that your child does not have a growth spurt. :)

I love semi customs so that they are almost ready to go. I hate waiting 2 months for something and with the way kids grow things don't fit. kitty1163@mac.con

Semi Customs are my favorite. DS has funky measurements and I rarely find in-stock stuff that works for him.

I like all three options but my favorite is completed items.

I like to see a mix of all three. Sometimes I really need that instand gratification of getting something in stock. I also like being able to find a colorway from who knows where and finding the right person to knit it up for me. The one thing I don't like is having only yymn spots. I also am not the most creative thinking person and love to see what others come up with.

I chose semi-custom, because I don't have yarn for YYMN and my son is a string bean! So, its easiest for me to chose sizing. But I do like to see what you come up with for pre-stocked items... kind of lets your creativity run wild since you know best how to work the yarn.

I would love to see finished designs :) As much as I love custom items, I hate the wait!!

I voted YYMN, but mostly because I only found this page by clicking on a link in your siggy on DS to find out if you did YYMN! lol

I like to see the semi custom slots like you have for those (gorgeous!) handspun shorties, but then I also like interesting cuffs :)

I voted! :) I love seeing semi-customs. The cost of shipping makes YYMN more expensive. Completed items don't work so well for me, because my dd has a short inseam. If I get things that fit her in the rise and hips, the inseam is ALWAYS too long. A semi-custom is the best of both worlds. Custom sizing, and I get my item fairly quickly since it's already partially knitted. :)

I think a good mix is good to have. :D

I like semi-custom best b/c my boys are weirdo sizes and don't necessarily fit into in-stock stuff. (I do love to see the in-stock though, but generally can't buy it.)

I voted! I like YYMN spots, b/c then the colorway is something I LOVE!!!
